Who is Carlos Alcaraz playing in the French Open final?
Novak Djokovic was defeated in straight sets by Jannik Sinner on Friday, ending hopes of a 25th Grand Slam championship.

Jannik Sinner will take on Carlos Alvarez in the final of the French Open after defeating Novak Djokovic in his semi-final.
Sinner, the world’s highest-ranked player, beat Djokovic in straight sets in a relentless performance on Friday. Djokovic had been aiming for a record-extending 25th career Grand Slam.
It will be a final of the two most exciting young male players in the world. Sinner currently has three major titles to his name, while Alcaraz has four. Sinner is yet to drop a single set on his way to the French Open final.
“These are rare and special moments,” Sinner said after the victory. “I’m very happy.”
“It was such a special occasion playing against Novak in the semifinals of a Grand Slam,” he continued. “I had to step up. I had to play the best tennis I could.”
Sinner will take on No. 2 seed Alcaraz in a finely-poised final on Sunday. Alcaraz was made to work for it in his semi-final against world No. 8 Lorenzo Musetti, but the Italian was forced to retire with the score at 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-0, 2-0.
“It means a lot,” Alcaraz said after the win. “I’m just really happy and proud about everything I’ve done during the two weeks here in Rolland Garos.
“It’s not the way way I want to win any match. I just wish Lorenzo a speedy recovery. I hope to see his game pretty soon again. But being back-to-back in the final in Roland Garros is a great achievement, one step more to take and on Sunday I think it’s going to be a beautiful and a great day.”
Alcaraz is looking to defend his crown at Rolland Garos and add a fifth Grand Slam championship in his young career. It will be the 12th time that Alcaraz and Sinner have met in their young careers and it is the Spaniard who has had the better of previous meetings, with a 7-4 record in favor of Alcaraz.
