Derrick Henry shares another reason why he is extra motivated for the 2025 NFL season
The Baltimore Ravens star could be rewarded with a Hollywood debut if he records another 2,000-yard campaign.

In terms of output, there can be no doubt that Derrick Henry is one of the greatest running backs in NFL history.
Now 31, ‘King Henry’ remains a fearsome prospect for any NFL defense. In the 2020 season with the Tennessee Titans, Henry put up 2,027 rushing yards to become the first player to hit 2,000 in high school, college and professional seasons.
He moved to the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the 2024 season and nearly matched that feat, eventually recording 1,921 yards. He’s aiming for that 2,000-yard mark again in 2025 and he has extra motivation to do so.
Henry recently appeared on The Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday and revealed that Adam Sandler is his favorite actor. Patrick is a longtime fan of Sandler and made a bet with Henry, promising a role in a movie if he makes it to 2,000 yards.
“Cool, say no more. Remember that now,” Henry answered. “Say no more. The bet is on. No pressure at all.” On Friday, Sandler responded.
The actor posted a video online in which he not only agreed to cast him in a film, he also offered “a nice dinner together” if he reaches 2,000 rushing yards in 2025.
“Two thousand yards-plus this year not only gets you in a movie, but we’ll have a nice dinner together and talk about Dan Patrick’s facial hair and how hard it is for him to grow it,” Sandler said in the video. “I love ya and keep it up.”
