Update:

Musician Bono has responded to President Trump’s claims about celebrities that support Kamala Harris’ presidential election campaign, slamming Truth Social in the process.

The comments from Bono came during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night. Kimmel asked Bono for his take on Trump’s bizarre social media posts about Bruce Springsteen.

“Whose side are you on, Trump or Bruce Springsteen?” Kimmel asked, and Bono replied: “I think there’s only one boss in America.”

He continued: “I know the president at 1 a.m. or whatever that was is usually thinking about you, but two points I’ll make. One, to be in the company of Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, and Oprah — I play tambourine in that band.

“And two, U2 and I never paid or played a show to support any candidate from any party,” Bono added. “And you know it’s called Truth Social, it seems to be pretty antisocial and not very true a lot of the time.”

The story dates back to comments made by Bruce Springsteen, currently on a worldwide tour. Speaking to the crowd during a show last week, Springsteen accused the Trump administration of “abandoning the world’s poorest children to sickness and death ... taking sadistic pleasure in the pain that they inflict on loyal American workers.”

In response, Trump posted on Truth Social: “Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country."

Bono was appearing on Kimmel’s chat show to promote a new documentary about his book tour, entitled ‘Stories of Surrender’. The Apple documentary premiered at Cannes Film Festival last week and received a seven-minute standing ovation from those in attendance at the screening.
